Ghosts and Spirits - The Difference

It is very evident when going on a ghost hunt event that there is a lot of talk about communicating with spirit. Ghosts are also mentioned but it seems that when there is activity it is the word spirit that is used. There is a very big difference between the two entities. A ghost is when the apparition is normally seen and is oblivious to any onlookers. It will behave in a habitual way and will not be impacted by any equipment or attempts to communicate with it. Basically it is unaware of our existence and is stuck in behaviour. A good way to describe it would be if you could imagine doing the same thing at the same time in the same way over a long period of time, like walking to the paper shop every morning at 7am along the same route for 30 years. It is as if the energy of that behaviour has been trapped. There are no emotions attached to it, it is almost like the re-run of a video clip that just keeps replaying. Many people who see wandering apparitions are actually seeing the ghost of somebody.

Spirits, however are a completely different kettle of fish. Spirit activity can link in with us and affect us. It can change our surroundings and make physical contact. It is the energy that is displayed rather than just the visual. Poltergeist activity, temperature changes, tapping and knocking. These are all the activities that spirit can perform. It is very confusing when we hear that spirit cannot hurt us and then we can see stones being thrown and people allegedly being taken over by spirit. If we see a ghost we are almost just bystanders on the essence of a past life being played out to us. With spirit activity we need to be much more aware and alert. For those of us who may have linked into spirit activity we know that it can be quite alarming and disturbing especially when it communicates with us intelligently. There are many thousands of books written about ghosts and spirits and in this article I just wanted to make readers aware that there is a big difference between the two and help them have a small amount of understanding when they are both being discussed within the framework of a ghost hunt event.
